The Square Benidorm

The Square Benidorm

The nightlife in Benidorm is one of it’s main draws. The nightlife is some of the best you’ll find in any resort in Europe in terms of shear variety of entertainment, acts and performances. Benidorm’s nightlife is split into these main areas:

Benidorm New Town / Rincon De Loix
Benidorm Old Town
Cala Finestrat (La Cala)
Poniente
Levante Beach Front Clubs and Bars
Top Road Clubs

Other evening entertainment and nightlife can be found at the Benidorm Palace, Desafio Medival or The Casino Mediteraneo near Villajoyosa. To find out more about these visit the Excursions section.

The New Town (Benidorm Levante) and Rincon de Loix

Benidorm New Town is the modern area just to the east of the Old Town, behind Levante Beach. The area further to the East of Levante Beach and up the hill towards Mundomar and Aqualandia is called the Rincon de Loix.

Benidorm’s New Town really is a party land and is where the Centre of Benidorms nightlife is… filled with bustling (mainly British) bars, cabaret bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

The Square

The centre of the New Town is a place called ‘The Square’ or ‘The English Square’ this is the area where the late nightclubs are centered around the corner of Calle Lepanto and Calle Mallorca. In the summer there is no stopping this party. Here you’ll find bars such as the Hippodrome, Lennon’s and Cafe Benidorm (open till about 7am). Just get in a Taxi and ask for Cafe Benidorm if you’re not sure.

Have a wander around the other bars in the New Town to experience Karaoke, comedians, drag acts and the one and only ‘Sticky Vicky’ (over 18’s only), this lady has been doing her act for years and still manages five or more shows per night, every night. You’ve not seen anything like this!!

Apart from the 24 hour nightlife, you can still experience a much more relaxed family atmosphere away from the ´Square´. A lot of the big modern hotels are further up towards the Rincon De Loix area, where there are many quieter bars with much more reasonable prices.

The Old Town
Benidorm Old Town is in the centre of Benidorm, most buses will stop at the bus station Behind McDonalds (Plaza De Triangular), or you can get in a Taxi and ask for Old Town or ‘Centro’.

The old town has some great character and charm, it’s great fun exploring the narrow streets. There are hundreds of small bars dotted around the streets with some great little Spanish tapas bars. There’s also plenty of small British bars, some with Kare-oke and entertainment, some just offering a warm welcome, relaxing music and a place to chat and unwind.

The Queens offers kare-oke an excelent show from Levi G (of Sandras) or Derek D.

The Gay Bars
The Old Town is also home to much of the Gay community in Benidorm. The evening usually starts on the terraces of Company Bar (CoBar), Bar Domino or The Queens, which are all gay friendly (and family friendly too) bars.

The night usually culminates at one of the late bars such as Chaplin or the Look, after passing through many of the other bars on the way. Then you can carry on again into the early hours of the morning.

La Cala Finestrat (La Cala)
Also a quieter area, especially in the winter. There are many small bars though offering some entertainment and food and a couple of nightclubs near the Hotel Bali.

Poniente
The area behind Poniente Beach doesn’t have much in the way of nightlife, there are a couple of bars, but not much else. If you are staying in this area, you may want to try expoloring the Old Town or the area around the Hotel Bali in La Cala. You can get a taxi to the new town from about 8 Euros.

Levante Beach-front Bars and Clubs

The beach front bars towards the Old Town end of Levante Beach are open all day. The bars offer specials on drinks and snacks during the daytime.

Rock Bars
Heart Break Hotel and the Daytona Beach Bar offer live music in the afternoon and right through into the evening. These American themed rock bars are a must if you just love Rock’n'Roll.

Disco Bars and Beach Clubs

There are a few to choose from in this area including, Penelopes, KM Playa and Ku Beach. All play cool Spanish House music and as with the Spanish tradition, the later the better! These bars/ discos close around 4am where the crowd then makes their way up to the huge ‘Top Road Clubs’. The best nights to visit here are Fridays and Saturdays, but they should always be busy during the summer months.

Top Road Clubs - KM, Ku, Pacha and Space
For the more sophisticated clubbers amongst you there are the huge Ibiza style clubs at the top of the town (or the top road clubs as they’re known). These clubs open about midnight, but don’t really get going until even later. When you pay for entry into one of these night clubs, it entitles you to entry into the other clubs (but make sure you get your wristband!). Pacha, Space, KM, Ku and many more.

Judge Jules at KM Disco, Benidorm
Catch Judge Jules every Wednesday night at KM Disco throughout the summer months, or join the foam parties every Friday night.
