Calpe
Calpe is a large coastal town and resort to the North of Benidorm
Calpe is a great place for a day out from Benidorm. There are 3 easy ways to get to Calpe. You can take the train, the Alsa Bus or a boat. Alsa buses leave from the main station on Avenida Europa. The boat trip leaves from the port in Benidorm Old Town or from near the Cable Ski in Rincon de Loix.
The bus will take you through Altea and then onto the winding mountain road and straight into Calpe. Once in Calpe you have 2 options. The Old Town of Calpe has many small cafes and bars and the Old Church which you can visit. Or make your way to the Peņon de Ifach. The Ifach is the huge rock at the end of the beach. If you are feeling energetic you can actualy walk up the mountain.
But if you prefer to take the easy option then this end of Calpe has alot more to offer. The local restaurants here serve fresh fish everyday... and we mean fresh. The restaurants get the fish direct from the fishing boats and the fish market in the port. You can also go into the fish market and watch the fishermen auction their catch.
Continuing in this direction will pass by the Marina and then you will be directly behind Altea town.
